Dry Feet Wet Feet... do something about small scale flood prevention with the AquaPrevent Campaign
Sometimes you have the opportunity to contribute to a great cause.
I take the challenge, will u join me and give your support to the AquaPrevent Campaign??
Do you know ANY people that live or work in buildings that are vulnerable to flooding? Or from the roof, or from the neighbours unprotected cave! Then Aquaprevent.info and AquapreventSolutions.com will be your ally soon.
Become a special Wet Feet sponsor
This is a viable project (confirmed by a.o. an entrepreneur and a hi level consultant) but it will take some time before the funds from insurance, sponsors, ads etc. arrive and with the current sitaution worldwide there is no time to waste!
Get the right to download the very first copy of ‘The Ultimate Flood-Book’ (summer 2011 - Dutch, French and English), dozens of pages filled to the brim with advice, ideas, food for thought and tips and trips for cheap and more refined protection of a building.
We focus on small and medium floods and we have some really practical info and ideas to share.
We cannot promise miracles, but some things you may want to know – also about a milder impact and more efficient drying and dealing with the moisture in a flooded house.
You may also be the trigger to ‘flood’ our countries with adequate, affordable and tested devices. We will also try to bring the prices of some interesting products down.
Minor Sponsors at 50 € (one language), and 100 € (3 languages)
Major and corporate sponsor at 500 and 1000 €, with life long access to all the updates of the ebook, privileged access to the site and 5 years of the future newsletter in at least in 3 languages Durch Fr Eng;);
Mail me on atilmont@gmail.com for the account number, if u have other questions or want to be a real future stakeholder or start up a campaign in your region.
Why would YOU be a financial contributor this concept?
= First of all be applauded in our list of people and institutions who “make a difference”.
= You may know someone who has been flooded and does not really know what to do next time. Most owners are NOT aware of the existing decent techniques to effectively seal off a building and cope with the moisture afterwards.
= With a few exceptions, flood prevention is limited to commercial info and talk about dykes, sand bags, flood plains and major infrastructure… a lot of talking and analyzing and research, but not always real action.
We focus on small and medium floods. We cannot promise miracles, but some things you may want to know – also about more efficient drying of a flooded house. We have some really practical info and ideas to share.

Some unexpected survival tips & tricks in the tropics.
Ok here we go, some samples of what I learnt all these years:
= Problems wit ‘tropical rash’? That’s the swollen and reddish irritation of the skin thru a combination of heat, moisture and transpiration and friction, often between the legs. Two tips: I love to carry along light synthetic lycra pants, those one uses on a bicycle – des ‘cyclistes’ in French. Really helps, and… some Maizena (corn flower) on the skin, better than talc.
Walking in shorts but afraid of leeches (yuk) in humid forests and parks? Smear some soap on your legs in the morning, they hate that (double yuk)
On the plane DRINK A LOT – most of the negative side effects come in fact from pure dehydration: the air in a skyhigh plane is rather artificial and really dry. Some cream on a dry skin is also welcome. Alcohol also deshydrates, so I just take a glas for myself to relax; no booze binge.
Stretch as often as you can, better for circulation.
If you ever suffer from dehydration – that’s a really serious condition that even works on the cellular level: take some salt, mineral rich fruit juices or the powder drink given to dehydrated babies, to compensate the lost minerals thru perspiration.
PLUS
Black active coal (Norit in Europe) from the pharmacist. Little pills of a black powder that beautifully absorbs toxins in the intestines. You’ll have a black mouth and black poo - but who cares? Safer than a lot of anti-diarrea stuff that just block the toxins in your body instead of letting your body eliminating it naturally.
Also pits of papaya (or extracts like papayasan difficult to get now) as powerful allies against infection by worms etc.
Lime, lots of lime, or lemon. Cheap (or take some leftovers from the hotel buffet ;-), put it in all drinks, spray it over all food… yummy and a powerful disinfectant.
Never forget: if u have diarrhea… all your drugs flush out, also the pill! And so Baby Warriors may come along the way.
Furthermore…
Never never never leave home without some most important things:
take some underwear, pills, camera, in your hand luggage. A photocopy of your passport may also be handy.
Suitcases DO get lost. And its NOT funny.
Once I arrived in Sri Lanka with my 4 Y old daughter Isis. Suitcase lost - sent somewhere to Indonesia instead of Colombo – took a WEEK to come back.
Lots of time consuming bureaucracy. We ended up with Gulf Air’s standard ‘emergency pack’
Containing each:
No underwear, no normal socks, hardly anything basic.
A toothbrush (that’s allright)
A lot of perfume and after shave - supposedly these are the bare necessities in the Gulf area
A white T-shirt each, XL and a razor (for a 4 y old ;-)
A pair of giant grey woollen socks (at 34 °C… Nice…)
The toilet bag was lovely though… ;-)
Light sleeper? Check out the traditional Boules Quies: these earplugs are old fashioned little balls of natural wax, available at the chemist etc. Not to be compared to all those plastic gadgets. The wax takes your body temperature, is easily moulded into the ear. In hotels there is always too much noise (fan, R/C, the elevator next door, some cheering disco-goers, a greek marriage or a myriad of croaking Thai frogs in an inner courtyard (real story, really resonating). Just pop in your Boules and... snore away happily ;-)
THAT's it FOLKS, see ya in Malaysia!! Anne
TANTRA LIGHT is live...
**** FOR MY ARCHIVES JUST SCROLL BELOW ;-) ***
it is a rather strange story.
I should have been in Germany for a full week Tantric programme with the really nice Sono (http://www.livingtantra.be/ in Dutch and French)
Canceled because Sono and his friend Clara/Maité had a horrendous accident (recovering well but still it's a long time proces). Leaving us all behind like orphaned childres... what to do with a full week 'empty holiday?
The assistent from Holland withdrew last minute, so I said in my usual way full of panache...
COME ON - I'LL DO A DAY TANTRA LIGHT MYSELF.
It was a lot of hard work, starting from scratch... Sleepless night before, but I did it and it was a truly marvelous day where some realmiracles occurred (Cathy's transformation..) .
So I will go on that path, will post the details soon, gottarunnow...
PS if you think Tantra is all about SEX, you're right.
if you think tantra is not all about SEX, you're right too.
===> Some people just use it as a philosophical excuse to have free and lush sex - but actually it is about opening up as a person, to love inconditionally (also oneself), to be open to new experiences,
there IS a large part of pure, intense, welcome sensuality in it... if you are open to that. but that's by no means an obligation.
TO BE CONTINUID... (also on Cuddle Parties and Puppy Piles)
MY LOVE/HATE RELATIONSHIP WITH... "Anne Tilmont wants to stay in touch on LinkedIn"
**** FOR MY ARCHIVES? JUST SCROLL BELOW ****
If you know me personally,
chances are you have seen that LinkedIn has 'Hijacked' my entire email address book.
This "Queen Anne was not amused..." though the results where surprising.
Amongst the people (some long forgotten, I love Googlemail as an everlasting archive) who accepted my not so spontaneous invite are:
(haha, made ya curious did I, just come back soon to see... won't be long)
= My dentist (who accepted graciously)
= Eurostar Client Service
=The (long distance) daddy of my daughter (who accepted graciously too, haven't seen him for a decade)
= The lovely female cook Brigitte Autier from Nice in France
= The equally lovely artist Sylvie T from Nice too...
etc.
HOW COME? HOW WILL I BE ABLE TO AVOID THE ETERNAL (and highly annoying) REMINDERS L sends to all over and over again (without the consent of the peston in whose name it's sent)? I'll keep you posted on that.
I got a really polite letter that it seems virtually impossible that the list was used without my consent, and that there will be only one reminder sent later unless I ask them to undo that - which I will.
It has something to do with the whole list being ticked ON , so if you don't pay attention it just goes OFF. I doubt if they are so clear in their communication as they claim, as my brother who is a civil judge and meticulous fiscal accountant, dismissed LinkeIn for the exact same reason (email sent to his whole Outlook list). And he certainly is not the type to give that kind of permission to a highly sensitive collection of contacts...
And I am sure I got several reminder from my 'Linkedinviting' friends but perhaps L did change that - to avoid accusations of spamming.
Keep you posted!
This came in, very polite...

A BLOG I LIKE: Marcus de Maria's WWOW (on investment etc)
I met Marcus at Harv Eker's Train the Trainer, he was my supporting buddy in a rather difficult exercice.
Now Marcus de Maria is a man who walks the walk, what he learns he does put into practice. As one of the most prominent speakers in the UK: motivational and really interesting investing seminars
I like his approach: just a short weekly message leading to a grand blog that mixes private & business & human & investing matters in a very skillfull and organic way. So reading his blog puts you up to date with his tiny baby daughter, but also some advice in non fluorided toothpaste (I AGREE!) or Forex and spreadbetting and the mysterious investing technique of Tax Liens...
the link should be embedded below, but just in case: http://www.marcusdemaria.typepad.com/

Hi Anne,
My arm is in a sling after a Las Vegas / Vancouver trip - but don't be alarmed,
this is perfectly normal, apparently.

EUROSTAR and a missed Christmas opportunity
I think by now the folks at #Eurostar must have grey hair.
Delays and problems galore this year. It all started in December with the blocked trains in the tunnel under the Channel - must have been a frightening experience... dozens of trains where cancelled. Something I found a real scandal is that that very Saturday the train wouldn't run... Christmas being a day off for the Eurostar crew you know. They where cosy at home, while they could have done a nice gesture to let at least SOME trains running to get some of the thousands of stranded people home. The perfect Xmas present... In February the snow left so many stranded. Then this huge accident in Halle that blocked their tracks. I was one of the few that could travel then, being brought back from Lille to Brussels by coach. Rather well organised but again the communication on the train was chaotic or inexistent, leaving a lot of people panicking (will I get on a coach, where is it?)
But then WHY do they sometimes treat us, customers, like complete idiots? Two weeks ago the Eurostar stopped in the middle of nowhere. The scarcely delivered information was that we had probably to be dropped off at Ashford... not a nice perspective for a late train to London. But Ok everybody staid calm.
The reason? A so called 'ventilation problem'' in a tunnel before London (not the long Channel tunnel). Strange.. we would have been happy to hold our breath for a few seconds.. .Even stranger was that for full 25 minutes we stood still just before Ashford 'waiting for a platform to be cleared' haha. As if we where in busy Kennedy Airport... Ashford is just a sleeping station, mainly in use as an extra hub for the Eurostar. Eventually we could enter the station, and even (huge relief!) be dropped of in London. Really late but at least we were there.
Yesterday evening there was only a minor delay (no explanation given at all), but I missed two trains in Brussels and was really lucky to have a late connection, or I could have joined the multiple homeless people sleeping there on the floor.
The ultimate antistress remedy ;-) nothing serious though
Some days one wishes to unwind... so do I - especially as the Eurostar train was late yesterday (AGAIN!) so I could only catch a very late train to my home. Pretty exhausted after a midweek in UK, (remember, my private coaching on #social media with @Barb_g ?) plus some intense bonding with my 'emigrated' teen daughter Isis
I was lucky I could unstress with this little set of animals... an unlikely pair
PS: for maximum effect turn off the horribly nervewrecking little music, instead put up something from Enya, to soothe the soul...
